    Carprofen is a non-steroidal antiinflammatory compound whose mechanism of action is dependent upon inhibiting the production of COX-2 and other sources of prostaglandins. Carprofen reduces inflammation by inhibition of COX-2 and other sources of inflammatory prostaglandins, does not interfere with COX-1 activity.
