Laetrile is a glycoside initially isolated from the seeds of the tree Prunus dulcis, also known as bitter almonds.Amygdalin isolated from S. Persicae extract in ISF-1 through a bioactivity-guided fractionation procedure induced the expression of follistatin in HepG2 and C2C12 cell lines.The amygdalin induced increase in TCCSUP migratory behavior indicates that any anti-tumor benefits from amygdalin (seen with the other two cell lines) may depend upon the cancer cell type.Amygdalin is a natural product that owns antitumor activity, less side effects, widely sourced and relatively low priced.
