    Aprotinin is a broad-spectrum serine protease inhibitor used in the clinic as an anti-fibrinolytic agent in fibrin-based tissue sealants. Aprotinin is a 58 Amino Acid peptide protease inhibitor, used clinically to prevent postoperative blood loss and reduce transfusion requirements in those procedures which employ extracorporeal circulation.
